“Compose Yourself” is a new six part series for BBC Northern Ireland in which world renowned concert pianist Barry Douglas returns to his native Belfast for one of the most unusual challenges of his career: to transform eight secondary school children from musical novices to concert performers in just eight months.

The stakes were high, Barry has never worked with complete beginners before but he believes he will have them playing with his orchestra, Camerata Ireland in a public concert at the City Hall as part of the Belfast Festival at Queens in under eight months.
